This artwork draws from memories of my younger years and the rhythms of life within my community. Living closely with nature, my people depended on the land for sustenance, gathering everything from small fauna to abundant flora. The richness of the natural world shaped our livelihoods and everyday joys. Through this work, I reflect on those shared experiences, celebrating our relationship with nature, memory, community, and simple victories.

Confined to Give Life explores the tension between restriction, growth, and transformation through the symbolic form of a triangle. Created through copper-sheet embossing, the raised forms and intricate textures suggest the struggle to nurture life within confined spaces. The triangular composition represents strength, stability, and aspiration, while the rigid copper surface becomes a powerful expression of resilience, endurance, hope, and the continuous journey toward freedom.

A sprawling topographical world unfolds across layered, textured terrain with dense colonies of ants tracing contour-like paths through undulating fields of pink, olive, and rust. Mixed media and intricate hand-stitched detailing lend tactile depth, mimicking aerial cartography. At its heart, a bristling circular vortex pulses with energy, anchoring the composition, a meditation on collective labor, pattern, and the hidden architecture of nature.

Concentric circles cascade down the canvas in a vivid spectrum of jewel tones, overlapping and radiating like ripples caught mid-motion. Tiny figures move across the layered rings, dwarfed by the vast, pulsing pattern surrounding them. The composition balances vibrant chaos with rhythmic order, evoking cycles of energy and life. Bold, saturated color and intricate repetition create a hypnotic sense of depth and perpetual movement.
